DESCRIPTION OF WORK
My work shows beings \"live\" exuberant and excited in a move almost threatening attitude, but these beings are attached to the surface by screws and metal slices that contradict this idea of movement and are opposed by their hardness and cruelty to the noble and graceful flexibility and cut wallpaper. The contradiction between the quality and origin of materials and the movement against it anchored by flagship products industry, representing the predatory activity of man and the consumer society against natural resources and environment.
The paper is vegetable cellulose and bark have sacrificed life and processed, the screw is the support of multiple structures of post-industrial civilization, the steel dibujÃstico use as a resource that creates a shadow on the structure, is a voracious consumer of fossil fuels during the forging process, thus generating a high impact on the deteriorating weather conditions, the acrylic from the industrial process of plastic lobsters, as well as fish and other life forms, are animals that roam the seabed, depositing debris and particulate pollutants, so they are victims of our erratic actions.
I humbly recognize influences and contributions of different sources and authors on my work flow: the explosion of colors and forms of Obregón, the sculpture of Calder, the search for meaning and expressive possibilities of the use of different and unconventional materials made by Eduard Moreno . On the other part appears in the creation, my teaching experience with children of different ages involving management of school materials and exercises cut, folded, torn and pasted paper, and to work as a newspaper owner of galleries with manual processes and the humble work the craftsmen who made figurines with pliers and wire. CONSCIOUS of the \"outlined\" with wire there is a similarity and a direct reference to the forms of my work and the Nazca lines.
My work reflects many personal experiences. From labor, a search for authenticity, and aesthetically, a deep concern for social and environmental issues that affects us all. My work is conceived as a constant search for contact with various references to art history, and the deep conviction that art can much to contribute to building a collective consciousness and memory that allow us to achieve a more reasonable and friendly coexistence between us and our environment.
